Delhi High Court reserves order on BRS MLC K Kavitha’s bail pleas in ED, CBI cases.
A bench consisting of Justice Swaran Kanta Sharma of Delhi High Court on Tuesday reserved orders on the bail petitions filed by BRS in the Delhi Excise policy scam case.
NEW DELHI: A bench consisting of Justice Swaran Kanta Sharma of Delhi High Court on Tuesday reserved orders on the bail petitions filed by BRS in the Delhi Excise Policy scam case.
During arguments, the ED explained that the BRS MLC played a pivotal role in the scam and objected to bail fearing tampering with evidence. On the other hand, Kavitha’s counsel said that out of the 50 accused in the case, only Kavitha was a woman, and section 437 of CrPC gave women a better right of consideration.
Kavitha was arrested by ED on March 15 I Hyderabad and CBI on April 11, while she was lodged in Tihar Jail under judicial custody in the money laundering case booked by the ED.
