HYDERABAD: Days after controversy erupted after Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Konda Surekha were allegedly insulted in a function in Yadadri temple by making them sit on lower pedestals compared to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and other Ministers, the Telangana Government transferred Yadadri Temple incharge endowments officer Ramakrishna Rao for protocol violation.
The video of Bhatti and Surekha, who hail from lower caste, sitting on footstools became viral. The Deputy Chief Minister tried to address the issue and put an end the controversy, He said that he intentionally chose to sit on the footstool and that no one had ordered him to do so. Bhatti added that he held key positions in the Government and that no one in the Government could insult him.
However, on Thursday, the incharge endowments officer Ramakrishna Rao was held responsible for the controversy and transferred. Bhaskar Rao has now been appointed in his place.
