Eshwari Bai is inspiration for many Telangana schemes: KCR

HYDERABAD: Eshwari Bai's birth anniversary is being officially organised by the Telangana government, regardless of political affiliation, said Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday.
The ceremonies are being held with the intention of promoting the ideals upheld by Eshwari Bai and her inspiration to future generations, according to Chief Minister KCR, who said that the previous governments ignored it.
The Chief Minister, who paid tribute to Eshwari Bai on the occasion of her birth anniversary on December 1, said that Eshwari Bai is courageous because she has worked for the upliftment of Dalits and oppressed communities throughout her life.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister remembered her bold struggle as a politician, social activist and a fighter who struggled for Telangana.
Chief Minister KCR hailed Eshwari Bai for displaying her fighting spirit as a Dalit woman when women were deprived of freedom. Her actions to reach many heights is a big inspiration to the present women community.
Inspired by the aspirations of democrats like Eshwari Bai, Chief Minister KCR reiterated that the Telangana government is moving forward with the goal of achieving Dalit empowerment. The Chief Minister said that the Telangana government is implementing many schemes with the inspiration of Dalit democrats like Eshwari Bai.
Chief Minister KCR said that the 'Dalit Bandhu' scheme, implemented by the Telangana government with an aim to strengthen the socio and economic self respect of Dalits and enhance self confidence among them, has become a role model in the country.
To create a consciousness in the entire administrative system in the country on the governance in tune with the aspirations of Dalits, Women, poor and weaker sections, Chief Minister KCR said that the State Secretariat is named after Dr BR Ambedkar and the India's highest 125 feet Ambedkar statue is being installed.
The Chief Minister said that the Telangana government is an inspiration for the country in this direction.
