Ex-TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah joins BRS at KCR’s public meeting in Jangaon

HYDERABAD: Embarking on his second day of campaign ahead of the Telangana polls, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) tore into the opposition and warned people to be wary of the misinformation campaign of the Congress and the BJP.
Speaking at the BRS Ashirvada Sabha held at Jangaon Medical College Grounds on , KCR said, "It is very important to vote for the right person. Before the formation of Telangana State, I used cry looking at the condition of districts and mandals here. In Bachannapet mandal of Warangal, none of the youth used to stay there, but migrated to other places. Now Bacchannapet reservoir is filled with water for 365 days."
Stating that the Congress plans to cancel Dharani portal if the party comes to power, KCR said, "Dharani system was established for giving land rights and empowering farmers. If it is taken away, officials can change the ownership of famers' lands. I will defend the rights of farmers' lands with my life."
The Chief Minister also praised the law and order situation in the State and highlighted how Hindus and Muslims are living peacefully in Telangana. Without naming the BJP, KCR said, "People have to be wary of attempts to create divisions in the name of religion. Till the time KCR is alive, Telangana will remain a secular State."
Explaining his plan for developing Jangaon, KCR said, "Cherial will be made a revenue division and will be sanctioned in a month of BRS coming back to power. Medical colleges along with nursing and paramedical colleges will be established in Jangaon. Since it is close to Hyderabad, this place will be developed with industries and IT corridor. Two to three more lift irrigation projects here will ensure 100 per cent water supply for all villages. All this will happen if ensure that Palla Rajeshwar Reddy."
Ponnala Lakshmaiah joins BRS
Ahead of the meeting, former Minister and Pradesh Congress Chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah joined the BRS party in Jangaon formally in the presence of the Chief Minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Ponnala expressed disappointment about how the Congress party treated him despite serving the party for 45 years. While praising the development of Jangaon, Ponnala said that his his focus would now be on working for the development of weaker sections.
