Fight against BJP, can't let anyone destroy Telangana: KCR
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that the Centre was turning into an enemy to Telangana and all other States.
VIKARABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Centre was turning into an enemy to Telangana and all other States.
Addressing a public meeting in Vikarabad after inaugurating the office of the District Collectorate here, KCR said: "We are the only State to give 24-hour electricity supply to all the sectors and provide Rs 5 lakh compensation to families of farmers in the event of their death. We have the best economy in the country. Unfortunately, the Centre is calling our welfare measures as freebies. They want us to impose unnecessary taxes and bills on the public. As people, you need to think twice and fight against the Centre."
Admonishing a few persons who waved the BJP flags on his way to the public meeting venue, KCR said that these people, though in minority, were being fooled by the BJP. He said that they were only interested in luring the public with false promises.
The Chief Minister proudly announced the opening of a new medical college and a degree college in the Vikarabad district after inaugurating the Collectorate office. Trying to take credit for the creation of Vikarabad district, he said that nobody had imagined 50 years ago that Vikarabad would one day become a separate district.
KCR said that the Telangana state was formed due to the sacrifices of many. In a veiled attack against Revanth Reddy, he said that those who mocked Telangana during its initial years were now looking for ways to take charge of the State. He urged the people to elect their leaders only after considering what was done for the State and by whom.
He also said that the cost of one acre in Telangana was now equal to the cost of 3-4 acres in other States. A farmer with three acres in the State would be a millionaire. He said that schemes like Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shadi Mubarak, Pattana Pragati and Palle Pragati, Harithaharam etc., were introduced in Telangana making the State the best in the country.
