HYDERABAD: A controversy erupted in Jubilee Hills when a GHMC Corporator, who recently switched from BRS to Congress, sent his wife to attend an official function, raising protocol concerns.

The event, which included the distribution of Kalyana Lakshmi cheques and was attended by MLA Maganti Gopinath, saw local corporator Baba Fasiuddin absent due to illness. His decision to have his wife represent him led to objections from BRS workers, who questioned her legitimacy at the function.

The situation escalated into a heated altercation between party activists, prompting police intervention. BRS workers were eventually escorted out, and MLA Gopinath expressed frustration over the officials' handling of the incident.
