Former DGP SK Jayachandra, daughter Payal Neha join BJP

HYDERABAD: Former Director General of Police SK Jayachandra and his daughter Payal Neha joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at the Telangana BJP headquarters on Thursday in the presence of the BJP state president Bandi Sanjay.

SK Jayachandra, an IPS officer of the 1978 batch, retired as erstwhile Andhra Pradesh Special Police Battalion Director General of Police in 2011. During his stint as IG (Communications), he was involved in the preparation of indices to evaluate police officers.

Later addressing the media, Bandi Sanjay said that the retired police officer and his daughter joined the BJP as they liked the party idealogy and policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “I welcome such selfless retired officers to join the party,” he said.

The state party president said that more such retired officers would join the party fold in the future. He called upon intellectuals to join the BJP in large numbers and strengthen the party.
