Girijan Bandhu will be implemented once BRS comes to power: KCR

HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has promised that a scheme titled Girjan Bandhu will be implemented if his party comes to power in the next term.

Addressing a meeting at Palakurthy on Tuesday, KCR said that under the BRS governance, the fate of Palakurthy had changed. KCR then questioned the opposition, "Why Congress party leaders are asking people for one more chance when they have done nothing in the past 50 years of their rule? Many people from Palakurthy migrated to other places for a better life. But now, people from other States are coming to Palakurthy to do agricultural work. This shows how the BRS Government has worked for the development of Telangana."

Talking about welfare for the poor, KCR said, "Girijan reservations have been increased to 10 per cent and just like Dalit Bandhu, Girijan Bandhu will be given to landless and jobless poor. Dalits were suppressed and were used as votebanks in the reign of Congress. Not even a single Chief Minister thought of the development of Dalits, but I have come up with Dalit Bandhu."

KCR promised the people of Palakurthy that 100 to 150 houses would be sanctioned in each village for poor people, Dalits, girijans within two years of the BRS coming to power.

KCR said that it was not a walk in the park to implement welfare schemes and give authority to farmers for their lands.

"I'm giving all rights to the people but Congress leaders will snatch that power away from the people if it wins in the upcoming polls. People will be thrown into darkness again and there won't be any sign of development in the State. I urge the public to vote by assessing the qualities of leaders and the history of the political parties they represent," concluded KCR.
