Govt to pay compensation to hailstorm-affected farmers in nine districts

HYDERABAD: G Chinna Reddy, Vice Chairman Telangana State Planning Board (TSPB) said that the Government will pay suitable compensation for the farmers who have lost their standing crops due to untimely rains and hail storms after the completion of the survey by agricultural department.
“Chief Minister Revanth Reddy directed the agriculture department officers to conduct a survey and report so that compensation could be paid to farmers,” he said.
Assuring farmers that the crop insurance scheme would be implemented from this Kharif season, Chinna Reddy said that crop damage was identified in nine districts whereas Kamareddy district was the most affected by the untimely rains.
The TSPB vice chairman said 80 percent of the farmers received Rytu Bandhu financial assistance in the State. “Both KT Rama Rao and Niranjan Reddy lost their jobs and have nothing to do, So their only aim is to criticise us,” he said.
