HYDERABAD: Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashant Reddy on Wednesday said that the Gruha Lakshmi scheme was a continuous process and that all beneficiaries would receive the benefits of the scheme in a phased manner.
The Minister said that opposition parties and certain newspapers were spreading false information about the scheme’s credibility.
He said that anyone who had a vacant plot could apply for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme irrespective of having house numbers and asked the applicants to submit their applications to the District Collector along with their representatives.
Vemula Prashanth said that after the construction of 3,000 houses was completed for each constituency in the first phase, applicants could apply for the second phase and assured the homeless not to worry, as the scheme was being implemented in stages.
Officials said that the list of beneficiaries would be announced by August 20. They said that applications received till August 10 would be considered for the first phase and all applications after would be considered for the second phase of the scheme.
The applications would be reviewed by the District Collector, and the list of eligible beneficiaries would be prepared with the approval of the District Minister.
