Harish Rao counters CM Revanth Reddy on Musi River development plans
Harish Rao criticises CM Revanth Reddy for inconsistent statements on the Rs 1.5 lakh crore Musi redevelopment plan.
HYDERABAD: Former minister and BRS MLA Harish Rao strongly countered Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's statements on the Musi River redevelopment project. Harish Rao pointed out that the CM has made inconsistent remarks about the project.
In a speech on July 20, CM Revanth Reddy claimed that a comprehensive plan of Rs 1.5 lakh crore had been prepared for the development of the Musi River over the next five years. Harish Rao also recalled that the recently released ‘Telangana Growth Story: The Road to One Trillion Dollar Economy’ vision document, unveiled by the Chief Minister on September 6, outlined this same figure, equating to approximately 18 billion dollars, for the Musi Riverfront redevelopment project.
However, Harish Rao criticised the CM's recent outburst during a press meet, where Revanth Reddy appeared to backtrack, angrily questioning who had mentioned the Rs 1.5 lakh crore figure. Harish Rao mocked the inconsistency, stating, "Even a chameleon would be ashamed of how often you change your stance."
He accused the Congress government of making baseless claims without a Detailed Project Report (DPR) and suggested that the Rs 1.5 lakh crore figure was unrealistic. Harish Rao went further, alleging that the Musi Riverfront project was a ploy to misappropriate public funds. "We will expose your corrupt plans at every step and hold you accountable on behalf of the people of Telangana," Harish Rao warned CM Revanth Reddy.
