Harish Rao criticises Group-1 recruitment injustices
Harish Rao criticises the impact of GO 29 on reserved category candidates and questions the silence of key leaders on recruitment issues.
SIDDIPET: Former minister and Siddipet MLA Harish Rao has strongly criticised the ongoing injustices in the state's Group-1 recruitment process.
Speaking to the media in Siddipet, Harish Rao expressed concern over the negative impact of Government Order (GO) 29 on candidates from SC, ST, BC, and minority communities. He alleged that the order was causing significant harm to these candidates.
Harish Rao questioned the silence of prominent figures like Prof Kodandaram, Prof Riyaz, Chintapandu Naveen, and Aakunoori Murali, who had once claimed to champion the cause of the unemployed. He asked why these leaders, who previously declared that the agenda of the unemployed was their own, were now silent. "When candidates are protesting for the postponement of Group-1 exams, why is Kodandaram not speaking up?" Rao asked, adding that since becoming an MLC, Kodandaram seems to have lost his voice.
He further criticised these leaders, accusing them of betraying the unemployed. He urged them to visit Ashok Nagar and engage in discussions with the Group-1 candidates. He said it was unacceptable that these leaders, who had secured jobs for themselves, had not uttered a word in support of the protesting candidates.
Harish Rao also questioned the implementation of promises made in the election manifesto. "Have even one of the promises made in the manifesto been fulfilled? They promised two lakh jobs within a year, but ten months have passed, and we are now demanding that they fill these positions within the remaining month and ten days," he said. He noted that no new job notifications or a job calendar had been announced so far, and only appointments for positions where results had already been declared were being handed out. He further accused the government of deceiving students with GO 29, claiming that the backlog posts for SC, ST, and BC candidates remain unfilled, and Revanth Reddy had gone back on his promises.
Harish Rao also issued a challenge to Revanth Reddy, questioning whether he had the courage to visit Ashok Nagar without security. He criticised the Revanth Reddy-led government, accusing it of playing with the lives of the youth by not fulfilling its promises. "You promised Rs 10 lakh interest-free loans to those without jobs, but now you're avoiding any action," Rao stated. He also took issue with the use of non-standard sources like Wikipedia in Telugu Academy textbooks.
He demanded that Revanth Reddy engage directly with students and address their concerns, rather than resorting to forceful actions against them. "Go to Ashok Nagar and sit in the library to resolve these issues," he challenged. He warned that any attempts to suppress the protests with force would only intensify the movement, stating, "BRS will not stand by while students are attacked. The more you try to suppress them, the stronger the movement will grow."
