HYDERABAD: Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new hostel building at Raja Bahadur Venkatrama Reddy Educational Society (RBVRR) on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Harish Rao said that he was happy to lay foundation stone for the expansion works of an educational institution founded by Raj Bahudur Venkatarama Reddy.

He said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao allocated 15 acres of government land at Budvel to set up a world-class educational institution and hostel complex to enable the poor rural youth to pursue higher education at a low cost.

Stating that Raja Bahadur Venkatarama Reddy Educational Society was a service-oriented, non-profit organization that provided services to the poor rural youth, especially for girls, to pursue their higher education, Harish Rao recalled that former Prime Minister of India the late PV Narasimha Rao, leaders like the late Mr. Ravi Narayana Reddy, former Union Minister S. Jaipal Reddy, Justice A Seetharam Reddy, Justice BP Jeevan Reddy, Justice B. Sudarshan Reddy and many eminent persons had pursued their studies in this great educational institution.

Assuring the society administration that he would make efforts to sanction Rs. 5 crore funds for the construction of the building, the finance minister wished the organization to provide better education to the poor students by inculcating values among the students instead of amassing money.

Ministers Sabita Indra Reddy, Niranjan Reddy, Prashant Reddy, Women’s Commission Chairman Sunita Lakshmareddy, MLC Vani Devi, MLA Madan Reddy, and Sridhar Reddy, members of Raja Bahadur Venkatrama Reddy Educational Society participated in this program.
