GAJWEL: Former Minister and MLA Harish Rao has demanded that the state government release water from the Medigadda Project immediately to support farmers and address irrigation and drinking water issues.

Speaking after a special puja at the Mahankali Temple in Gajwel town on Sunday as part of the Ashada Bonalu celebrations, Harish Rao emphasised the urgency of the situation. He accused the Congress government of neglecting the plight of farmers whose crops were withering due to a lack of water. He urged the government to set aside political differences and focus on resolving the irrigation issues for the welfare of the farmers.

Harish Rao praised the previous BRS government for its efforts to support farmers.

He commended the temple committee for its significant contributions to the temple's development. He noted the current drought conditions in the state and expressed hope for good rains with the blessings of Goddess Mahankali. He prayed for the prosperity of the state and the well-being of its people.

The event was attended by MLC Yadav Reddy, former FDC Chairman Onteru Pratap Reddy, Gajwel Municipal Chairman, and councillors.
