Housekeeping, sweeping staff protest at Secretariat

HYDERABAD: Housekeeping and sweeping staff at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat protested on Monday, alleging harassment and casteist slurs from their supervisors.

The workers claimed that the supervisors had been verbally abusing them, using casteist remarks, and subjecting women to obscene language.

They further alleged that the supervisors threatened them with job loss if they did not comply with their demands. The protesting staff attempted to contact the contractor and the KVR management, who are responsible for their employment but were unsuccessful.
