Hyderabad Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi meets New York City Mayor

HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, who is on a tour of the United States, met New York City Mayor Eric Adams on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the New York City Mayor expressed happiness that Hyderabad had been a popular city since ancient times and said that it was transforming into a global city, garnering international recognition.
Mayor of Greater Hyderabad Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, also speaking on the occasion, stated that Hyderabad was working to increase opportunities in business, by seeking the cooperation of physically developed cities through Sister-City Relationship initiative. She recalled that Hyderabad City had signed an MoU with California City under Sister City Relationship to create mutual opportunities in terms of culture and academy related to both cities.
Gadwal Vijayalakshmi on this occasion requested New York City Mayor Eric Adams to visit Hyderabad before April 30 to view the development carried out in the city and to get into an agreement on other issues such as technology and mutual opportunities as per the MoU signed under Sister City Relationship.
The mayor, along with Eric Adams, paid tributes to India’s Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 75th death anniversary on January 30 at New York City Hall.
