HYDRAA not involved in demolitions or evictions along Musi River, says Ranganath
The HYDRAA Commissioner clarified that the agency was not connected to surveys or demolitions near Musi Riverfront project.
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) clarified that there were no plans to demolish homes or evict residents in areas along the Musi River as part of ongoing development projects.
HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath stated that recent surveys conducted along both banks of the river were unrelated to HYDRAA, and there was no intention to relocate residents or mark houses for demolition.
Ranganath emphasised that the Musi beautification efforts were being handled by the Musi Riverfront Development Corporation, and HYDRAA was not involved in any clearance activities in the river's periphery. The clarification came amid concerns among local residents regarding potential demolitions or forced relocations as part of the riverfront project.
The Musi Riverfront Special Project aimed at beautifying and developing the riverbanks, but no actions had been taken by HYDRAA to mark or clear any structures in the area. Officials assured that the focus of the current efforts was on the river’s beautification, and no residents would be affected by demolitions or relocations.
