HYDERABAD: Dissidence is the middle name of the Congress. Internal bickering and raising the banner of revolt against the leader are common traits in the Congress party. Telangana Congress is more prone to it, for this is the loss of inheritance. Now, the man in the hot seat and TPCC president A Revanth Reddy is facing the heat of senior leaders from within the party. None other than his predecessor N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Telangana CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka gathered all the dissidents in a show of resentment.

Senior leaders of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), after a meeting at former Congress MLA Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka's house on Saturday, took up a fight against TPCC State President Revanth Reddy and announced the launch of a 'Save Congress' movement.

They said that the TPCC was breaking internally and the sole reason behind it was Revanth Reddy's attitude towards the party. The leaders said that Revanth Reddy did not care about the party's members, who supported the TPCC for a long time, and was only focused on giving good positions to leaders who left other parties and joined the Congress recently.

TPCC's senior leaders MP Uttam Kumar Reddy, Former MP Madhu Goud Yaskhi, MLA Jagga Reddy, former Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narsimha, MLA Bhatti Vikramarka and other leaders were present in the meeting.

What the senior Congress leaders said:

MLA Bhatti Vikramarka said, " Telangana Congress Committee is being destroyed by Revanth Reddy and his negligence. This will be taken to the Central Congress leadership and we will demand that serious action be taken."

MP Uttam Kumar Reddy said that Revanth 's decisions were harming leaders of the TPCC and that the party's state of affairs would soon be the same as that of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). He also said, "Revanth Reddy does not care about the party. How can one expect the Congress to come into power in this State when the party isn't strong internally. There were protests recently outside his office that denigrating posts about not just the TRS or the BJP, but about Congress leaders including me were being posted from his handles. He is pushing his own party members into controversies."

Former MLA and once Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Damodar Raja Narasimha said, "Revanth Reddy's father excelled in family rule but his wife joined the BJP without even considering Revanth's words. In the current situation, he need not focus on Andole, but rather be focused on solving matters with his 'home minister'."

Former MP Madhu Goud Yaskhi said, "What does Revanth Reddy think? How will we win any election with his behaviour? He should gain a foothold in the constituencies of Nizamabad parliament if he does not wish to see the grave of his political career."

Senior party leader Jagga Reddy also said that Revath Reddy was a covert who might switch parties anytime. "How will he become the party's president the next time?" Jagga Reddy said.

Alleti Maheshwar Reddy said, "The people of Nirmal have forgotten Revanth Reddy. He was made the chief of TPCC for what reason? He could not retain Nirmal's Ramarao Patel. He shifted to the BJP. What is he doing?"
