HYDERABAD: Senior Congress leader and MLC Jeevan Reddy has once again expressed his deep frustration regarding the ongoing defections to the Congress party.

Speaking candidly, Jeevan Reddy clarified that he held no personal anger towards the Congress, describing the party as his "own home." However, he voiced concern that his decades-long association, spanning over four decades, now feels undermined.

Jeevan Reddy revealed that he has been feeling sidelined and humiliated for the past four months, adding that it has reached a point where he has to declare himself as a Congress leader. He remarked that internal developments in the party have left him deeply dissatisfied.

His primary grievance is the influx of leaders from the BRS into Congress, which he believes goes against the party’s core values. He urged the high command to disqualify defectors, emphasising that party-switching is not beneficial for Congress. Jeevan Reddy reiterated that he had raised this concern with the high command but said the final decision lies with the party leadership.

Jeevan Reddy expressed his dismay, stating that it has become difficult to distinguish between Congress and BRS leaders, and even genuine Congress members are now forced to assert their identity within the party. He also affirmed that Congress remains in a strong position in the state, even without the support of AIMIM, and urged swift action against those who switched from BRS. He reminded the leadership that the law allows suspension for defectors, and he remains steadfast in his call for action against such members.
