HYDERABAD: Congress supporters allegedly attacked journalist Chiluka Praveen in Hyderabad, leaving him seriously injured.

Praveen, known for questioning the government on public issues, was assaulted by Congress supporters, leading to his hospitalisation at Yashoda Hospital in Somajiguda.

Former Minister and Suryapet MLA Jagadish Reddy visited the hospital to check on Praveen's condition and inquired with doctors regarding his treatment. He also urged that the best possible medical care be provided. Former MLAs Dr. Gadari Kishore Kumar and Budida Bixamaiah Goud, along with BRS leaders Chintala Venkateshwar Reddy and Rakesh Reddy, accompanied Jagadish Reddy during the visit.

The attack on Chiluka Praveen was strongly condemned by BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao. In a tweet, KTR questioned the state of governance and expressed outrage at the incident. "Is this what governance has come to? Is attacking those who raise their voice against the government a form of democracy?" KTR asked. He criticized the rising intolerance towards those questioning the government, including journalists, public representatives, students, and citizens.

KTR demanded that the Congress supporters involved in the attack be immediately arrested by the Revanth Reddy-led government. He emphasised that Chiluka Praveen has been a voice for the people, particularly highlighting issues faced by marginalized Dalit and Bahujan communities, and such attacks on journalists are unacceptable.
