Junior doctors temporarily withdraw strike
Junior doctors resumed regular medical services at Gandhi Hospital and other teaching hospitals today.
HYDERABAD: Junior doctors across Telangana temporarily called off their strike after successful discussions with the Director of Medical Education (DME) health department. The strike lasted until midnight on Tuesday.
Senior officials assured the construction of residential buildings for junior doctors at Gandhi and Osmania hospitals. Additionally, the government promised to provide funds for repairing roads at Kakatiya University.
However, doctors at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) decided to continue boycotting medical services, including outpatient surgeries and in-patient ward services. The Telangana Junior Doctors Association unit at OGH stated that the strike would persist until the state government commits to constructing a new building within the existing hospital campus, a primary demand in their strike notice.
Following the temporary withdrawal of the strike, junior doctors resumed regular medical services at Gandhi Hospital and other teaching hospitals on Wednesday morning.
