Karthik Reddy, mother Sabitha Indra Reddy to stay with BRS, refutes rumours

HYDERABAD: BRS leader Patolla Karthik Reddy said that he and his mother Sabitha Indra Reddy have no plans to leave the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).

Addressing media at Telangana Bhavan on Friday Karthik Reddy said that he left the Congress party under special circumstances on that day, but he would never change parties for political purposes and personal favours. “I will not change the party, my mother will not change the party. We are in BRS,” he said.

Karthik Reddy also warned action against those who were spreading canards about his political ambitions.

Alleging a tacit and unholy understanding between the Congress and the BJP in Telangana, he said that if the BRS had any understanding with the BJP KCR’s daughter Kavitha would not be in jail even four months after her arrest. “Kavita has been in jail for 120 days. If we are in alliance with the BJP, why is Kavitha still in jail,” he said.

Karthik Reddy said that both the Congress and the BJP had teamed up to sell the wealth of Telangana. “Auction of Telangana’s coal by the Centre and the BJP’s support to the judicial commission on electricity are two examples to support my argument,” he said.

Pointing out the surprising changes in the Telangana political arena, he said Congress leader Tummala Nageswara Rao who won on Congress ticket celebrated his birthday at the TDP party office in Khammam.

“Rahul Gandhi said to have asked the Congress, the BJP, and the TDP to work together in Telangana What more proof do you need that the Congress and the BJP are working together in the state?” Karthik Reddy pointed out.

He said that the BJP was trying to tarnish the image of Telangana and the Congress party was supporting the BJP’s actions. “Do you think that Rahul Gandhi does not know what is in the 10th schedule of the Constitution? The people will certainly make the Congress party sit in opposition for encouraging defections,” he said.
