KCR accuses Congress for attacking Medak MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy
KCR has criticised the Congress party of resorting to cheap politics by attacking Kotha Prabhakar Reddy while he was campaigning in Siddipet district
NARAYANKHED: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has accused the Congress party of resorting to cheap politics by attacking BRS MP and Dubbaka MLA candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy while he was campaigning in Siddipet district.
Addressing the ‘Praja Ashirvada Sabha’ at Narayankhed in Sangareddy district on Sunday, KCR criticised Congress party leaders who were inefficient and were not in a position to win the elections and attacked Prabhakar Reddy with knives, which was highly deplorable. “During the elections, anyone can arrange meetings and list out their schemes for the people’s welfare. It is not at all correct on the part of the Congress party to create disturbances in the State during the election campaigning and attack Prabhakar Reddy,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that Narayankhed witnessed a lot of transformation under the BRS Government rule when compared with the previous Congress regime. Earlier, Government employees feared a lot to work in the region due to lack of facilities. “It is the BRS Government which has established a Regional Transport Office and Deputy Superintendent of Police office in Narayankhed and enhanced the facilities for the convenience of the public,” KCR said.
Highlighting the initiative being taken by the BRS to supply water for both drinking and irrigation needs in the region, KCR said that the Government began the construction of two new lift irrigation schemes-Sangameshwara and Basaveshwara to transform the parched lands of Sangareddy district to lush green and irrigate uplands in Narayankhed and Zaheerabad constituencies. The famous Singur project, which supplies water to several Assembly constituencies in Medak district, would dry occasionally. In this regard, the Singur project was interlinked with Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme (KLIS) with Singur project to ensure the availability of water in Singur throughout the year, he said.
KCR said that a lift irrigation scheme was also developed to supply water for Naryankhed and Zaheerabad from Singur. In addition, a canal was also dug up to Narsapur and would reach into Naryanakhed to supply water for around 30,000- 40,000 acres of land, he said, and added that once the Basaveshwara project completed and Mallana Sagar canal comes into operation, around 1.80 lakh acres would get water in Narayanakhed constituency.
Considering a proposal from the MLA Bhupal Reddy for a lift irrigation scheme across the Nallavagu project for cultivation of two crops in the region, the Chief Minister said the scheme would be sanctioned if they re-elect Bhupal Reddy in the elections. Be it BC Gurukul schools, educational institutions or new roads for Mansanpally, the MLA sought them for the holistic development of the region, he added.
