KCR in favour of Prabhakar Reddy as TRS candidate for Munugode by-election
KCR will likely announce the candidate on Tuesday, probably after the meeting.
HYDERABAD: Despite some initial resistance, Telangana Chief Minister and TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao appears set to announce former MLA Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy as the party candidate for the Munugode Assembly by-election. The TRS supremo convened a crucial meeting on Tuesday with Minister Jagdish Reddy and the ticket aspirant Prabhakar Reddy at Pragati Bhavan to finalise the party candidate for the Munugode by-election.
According to party sources, KCR will likely announce the candidate on Tuesday, probably after the meeting. The TRS, on the other hand, has scheduled mandal-level 'Athmeeya Sammelana' sessions in the Munugode constituency beginning Tuesday.
According to sources, Chief Minister KCR gave Jagdish Reddy the go-ahead to reveal Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy's candidacy during the Athmeeya Sammelana meetings. According to reports, the Chief Minister had already zeroed in on Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy as the potential candidate of the TRS for the Munugode by-election.
Following Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy's resignation, all of Telangana's major political parties are preparing for the Munugode by-election to fill the seat. Contrary to the Congress and BJP parties, the TRS, which is now in power, has not yet announced its nominee. Now, all eyes are on Telangana Chief Minister KCR's key meeting to select the TRS candidate for the Munugode by-election.
