HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has commenced his exercise of disgruntled elements who were denied renomination in the upcoming Assembly elections.

He has made his former deputy and Station Ghanpur MLA T Rajaiah, as he had fielded his another former deputy Kadiyam Srihari to seek an election from the seat.

Rajaiah demonstrated his indignation over the decision not to field him and replace him with his rival within the BRS from the seat. However, the Chief Minister insisted that Rajaiah budged and paved the way for the party’s official nominee and also wanted him to extend unconditional support to Srihari and ensure his victory.

Rajaiah has been accused of inappropriate behaviour by a sarpanch in his constituency and similar charges came up against him earlier. KCR chose to replace him to avoid the risk of criticism.

Similarly, KCR wanted to field MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy from Janagaon Assembly seat. Accordingly, he kept the announcement of the candidate from the constituency without renominating sitting MLA Muthireddy Yadagiri Reddy. In fact, Yadagiri Reddy had faced charges of misbehaving with a female District Collector. He was embarrassed by his daughter who charged him with coercion and property dispute.

Considering his clout in the constituency, KCR made him chairman of Telangana State Rashtra Samithi (TSRTC) which is a Cabinet rank position.

This carrot was dangled before Muthireddy when BRS working president K T Rama Rao recently. The MLA, who had turned impudent initially, was however made to fall in line by KTR.

KCR gifted him the coveted position to placate his frayed tempers. He obviously pledged his loyalty to the party and it’s now a formality to announce the name of Palla Rajeshwar Reddy as BRS nominee form Janagaon.

Interestingly, the Chief Minister gave a welcome gift to two of those who joined recently into the BRS.

Uppala Venkatesh, an influential independent ZPTC member of Thalakondapalli in Kalwakurthy constituency, was made the vice-chairman of the Mission Bhagiratha. This is clearly a measure to effectively checkmate a BRS MLC Kasireddy Narayan Reddy who is joining the Congress to fight the Assembly elections from Kalwakurthy.

The biggest bonanza befell Nanadikanti Sridhar, who is made chairman of Most Backward Classes corporation. He felt “displaced” by the entry of sitting BRS MLA Mynampalli Hanumanth Rao into the Congress.

Sridhar nursed an ambition to contest from Malkajgiri Assembly seat which was gifted away to Hanumanth Rao by his close pal and TPCC president A Revanth Reddy. He quit the post of Malkajgiri District Congress Committee president and crossed over to the BRS just yesterday.

Sridhar soon moved his pawns swiftly and joined the BRS in the presence of KTR.

The Chief Minister is contemplating fielding Marri Rajashekar Reddy, son-in-law of Minister Malla Reddy, from Malkajgiri.

Marri Rajashekar Reddy has already commenced campaign in the constituency and began his show of strength by organising rallies.

KCR wants to cajole those stoking rebellion effectively and ensure the victory of BRS nominees.
