HYDERABAD: First Chief Minister of Telangana and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) said that he would not attend the Telangana formation day and decennial celebrations organised by the State Government on June 2, 2024.

In a 22-page open reply addressed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday, KCR enlisted various reasons that made him take a decision not to attend the Government function.

“Your regime is gradually throwing public life into turmoil. Protesting against your attitude of insulting and attacking those who question you at every step and your perverted tendencies of insulting the very existence of Telangana. I am sorry to inform you that the BRS will not be participating in your decennial celebrations,” KCR said.

He expressed hope that in the future, the CM would stop this attitude and try to work for the welfare of the people for real progress and soon all the election promises made by him would be fulfilled.

“First of all, I am protesting against the poverty of your sentiments, which is being propagated by the Congress. Since 1969, the movement has been going on for five decades, in different directions, in different ways. It is a fact that the Congress bloodied the Telangana movement throughout history,” KCR wrote.

He recalled that during the Mulki movement of 1952, four students of City College were shot dead. In the first phase of the Telangana movement, 369 youth were killed, KCR said.

“The Congress party has a sinister history of destroying the lives of five generations of people in Telangana by setting up Andhra Pradesh against the wishes of the people of Telangana,” KCR noted.

He said that the BRS gave political expression to the Telangana movement and turned the Telangana cause into an undisputed political force. KCR said that the demand for a separate Telangana state has been widely accepted.

“The announcement of December 9 came when the whole world stood in support of my hunger strike and moved in a way to unite the heavens and the earth,” KCR observed.

The Congress, bowing to the pressure of the united rulers and backtracking on the statement made, once again committed a grave fraud. As a result of the fraud committed by the Congress party, hundreds of youths have sacrificed their lives in anger.

“Neither you nor your party has ever expressed any remorse for this. You did not apologise to the people of Telangana. The Congress is insulting the movement and the sacrifice of the martyrs by showing a dominant and arrogant attitude that we have given Telangana with mercy from above,” KCR said.

Blaming the Chief Minister for not uttering the slogan Jai Telangana KCR said that the people of Telangana were objecting to his mental disability of not being able to chant Jai Telangana, which is the life of Telangana people.

Taking up the issue of farmers' welfare KCR said that if the BRS respected the farmers by keeping them on their heads, six months of Congress rule had humiliated the farmers by threatening them with slippers.

“You announced in the election manifesto that you will provide crop investment assistance of Rs 15,000 annually through the 'Rythu Bharosa "scheme, which will be implemented within 100 days. The farmers "hopes were completely dashed,” he said.
