KCR wanted to join NDA, but I denied: Narendra Modi
Modi also claimed that KCR infact wanted to retire from politics and asked him to bless his son KT Rama Rao (KTR).
NIZAMABAD; In a sensation disclosure, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) had approached him after the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, but he refused their entry.
Speaking at a rally in Nizamabad, Modi said, "I am going to tell you a big secret for the first time to all of you. During the GHMC elections, the BJP won 48 seats and KCR needed support to get a clear majority. K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) met me in Delhi and said that he wanted to join the NDA. He also asked me to extend support to him. I told him that due to KCR's deeds, Modi cannot be associated with him.
"We stopped their entry into NDA. After that, their behaviour changed. I started talking about corruption. Before the election, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) used to give me a grand welcome at the airport. But after the elections, they stopped doing it," he added.
Modi claimed that KCR infact wanted to retire from politics and asked him to bless his son KT Rama Rao (KTR).
"After the elections, KCR met me in New Delhi and said that he would hang his boots and asked me to bless KTR. I told him this is not his kingdom and that he's not a king to pass on the baton. This will be decided to people of Telangana. From then on, they are not talking to me and meeting me in the eye," the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister also accused the Congress and the BRS of having an understanding between them to loot money and stay in power like they did in Karnataka.
"The people of Telangana have to be careful of the Congress party. They are big players. Once they are voted out of a State, they don't return to power. Therefore, they do everything to divide votes and the BRS is supporting it.
“Congress took the contract to divide votes on behalf of the BRS. There is backdoor understanding between the two parties but the defeat of the BRS is certain. BRS helped the Congress in the Karnataka elections and the Congress is repaying for it in Telangana,” Modi said.
Requesting the public to vote for the BJP in Telangana, Modi said, "Give me one chance. Whatever these people looted, I will drop it at your feet. When BJP comes to power, I will expose corruption. Give me one chance to establish a double engine Government and we will ensure development."
