KCR welcomes BJP corporator, followers from Solapur into BRS

HYDERABAD: A huge contingent of former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) followers from Solapur and Nagpur of Maharashtra joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the presence of party President and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) at Telangana Bhavan on Saturday.
They joined the BRS under the leadership of Nagesh Valyal, a corporator from Solapur who recently quit the BJP. They were welcomed into the party by KCR by offering them a pink scarf as a token of appreciation.
Thanking BRS President KCR for inviting them into the party, Nagesh Valyal said that there were more than a lakh Telugu-speaking people in Solapur, whose ancestors migrated from different parts of Telangana in search of livelihood.
“My father was a staunch follower of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) and a BJP leader. But today the BJP joined hands with the corrupt Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) forcing me and my followers to quit and join BRS under the leadership of KCR,” Nagesh said.
He said that many of the BJP cadre in Solapur who had visited Hyderabad and Telangana realised the backwardness in their region. “We get drinking water once in eight days in Solapur and we are way behind Telangana in many aspects,” Nagesh said, adding that he and all his followers strongly believed that development was possible only with KCR.
