HYDERABAD: In a vibrant roadshow held in Qutbullapur under the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, BRS Working President K Tarakarama Rao stated that if the BRS wins 10-12 seats in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, it will pave the way for the party's chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao to return as Chief Minister of Telangana.

Addressing a large crowd, KTR highlighted the BRS's success in the Greater Hyderabad area during the Assembly elections, where the party won 16 seats. He suggested that similar success in the Lok Sabha elections could lead to significant development in the region, stating, "If the Assembly results are replicated in Parliament, then BRS MPs, along with BRS MLAs, could bring further development."

KTR criticised the Congress and the BJP, accusing them of fielding "political tourists" as candidates in Malkajgiri. He pointed out that one was from Chevella and another from Huzurabad. He praised BRS's local candidate, Ragidi Lakshmareddy, as someone who would remain in the area and serve the people.

In his address, KTR criticised the BJP-led central government for neglecting Telangana over the past decade. He pointed out that top BJP leaders visited Hyderabad for election campaigns but did not come during the city's recent floods. They provided no funding for the Metro Rail or any other significant projects. He urged voters to ask what Prime Minister Narendra Modi had done for Hyderabad.

KTR also condemned the BJP's focus on religious issues, warning that it could turn Hyderabad into a "toxic city." He added that if BJP candidates come seeking votes, voters should question them about what they have accomplished for Hyderabad. He said the BJP was seeking votes on the ground that it had built one temple. But, he said KCR also built temples like Yadadri while creating modern infrastructure such as the Kaleshwaram project, reservoirs, and ponds.

The BRS leader emphasised that the BRS had never aligned with either the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) or the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) and reiterated that the party would never form an alliance with the BJP. He condemned the BJP's targeting of his sister, Kavitha, with what he claimed were false charges, stating, "Will I ever befriend such a party?"

He noted that 13 political parties were not aligned with the NDA or INDIA, emphasising that these parties could play a significant role in the formation of a new government at the Centre. If BRS wins 10-12 Lok Sabha seats, the party will be in a solid position to influence national politics.

KTR also targeted the Congress for spreading false propaganda, mainly attacking Telangana Congress Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, whom he referred to as a "mad donkey." He criticised Congress's unfulfilled promises, such as offering one tola of gold for poor girls at the time of marriage and providing Rs. 2500 monthly to all women.

He emphasised the need for religious harmony and a cosmopolitan culture in Hyderabad, warning that the BJP's divisive politics could turn the city toxic. He urged voters to support BRS to maintain Hyderabad's cosmopolitan identity and reject the BJP's communal agenda.
