KCR’s greetings on International Workers Day, lists out Telangana’s welfare schemes for labour
KCR extended greetings to all hardworking labourers and professional workers who sweat it out in their professions and participated in the development of the society
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao extended greetings to all hardworking labourers and professional workers who sweat it out in their professions and participated in the development of the society.
Extending his greetings to labourers and workers on the occasion of May Day - International Workers Day on Monday, KCR said that wealth was being created in this world only through hard work and sacrifices of hardworking people which were the foundations for strong building of the world. He explained that the state government was implementing a slew of welfare schemes with the aim of improving living standards of workers and farmers.
The Chief Minister said Rs 6 lakh of assistance was being paid to family in case a worker died due to accident.
From 2014 to 2023, the State government extended Rs 223 crore of assistance to 4,001 affected families. In case of disability due to accident, Rs. 5 lakh each was provided. As many as 504 disabled workers got Ra 8.9 crore assistance till date.
The Government was paying Rs 30,000 towards maternity benefit to for two deliveries.
From 2014 till date , the government provided Rs 280 crore assistance to 35,796 families. Rs 1 lakh was paid to the families of the workers in case of death of workers due to any reason. As much as Rs 94 crore was paid to 1,49,536 dependent of workers.
KCR said that Rs 98 crore was spent for funeral of 39,797 deceased workers.
During the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the CM said that the state government spent Rs 1,005 crore under various programmes.
The Chief Minister said that the government would continue its efforts to bring a qualitative change in the lives of workers in the entire country with the same spirit the Labour welfare programmes implemented in the Telangana State.
