Keshava Rao resigns as Rajya Sabha MP
Keshava Rao met Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday and submitted his resignation.

HYDERABAD: A day after formally joining the Congress party, K Keshava Rao resigned from his position as a Rajya Sabha member on Thursday.
Keshava Rao met Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on Thursday and officially submitted his resignation.
Keshava Rao was unanimously elected as a Rajya Sabha MP in March 2020, and his term was to expire on April 9, 2026. However, following his induction into the Congress party, he quit his Rajya Sabha post. Keshava Rao joined the Congress party in New Delhi on Wednesday in the presence of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.
Keshava Rao was first elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2006 and served until 2012. He also served as the president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC). He joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in 2013 and served as the party's Secretary General. He was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha in 2014 and again in 2020.
With Keshava Rao's resignation from the Rajya Sabha, Telangana is now set for another by-election to fill this vacancy.
