BIBINAGAR: A vitriolic argument broke out between Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Yadadri zilla parishad chairperson Alimineti Sandeep Reddy from the BRS after the Minister accused Sandeep of nepotism.

Participating in the inauguration of a gram panchayat building on Monday, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that he didn't have a political godfather and rose to the position of being a Minister while BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR), with the backing of his father and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), was arrogant.

Sandeep Reddy, who was present at the event as per protocol, was on stage sitting next to the Minister. Pointing at Sandeep, Komatireddy said, "Sandeep Reddy is not even fit to be a sarpanch. He only became a ZPTC because his father Madhava Reddy is a big leader." This led to a war of words between the duo and the police whisked Sandeep away from the stage.

Releasing a statement to condemn the incident, KTR said, "People are observing the way Komatireddy acted arrogantly. He should apologise to Sandeep immediately. After coming to power, Komatireddy has been running his mouth and doesn't understand the difference between public representatives and the public. He recently threatened to slap farmers with slippers if they asked about delay in doling out funds for Rythu Bandhu. The Congress, which is advocating Praja Palana after coming to power, is running a dictatorial government." KTR spoke to Sandeep over phone and promised that he would be backed by the entire party.

BRS leader Harish Rao took to X and tweeted, "Is this Praja Palana that the Congress promised? This is proof of the dictatorial tendencies of the Congress Government. If Komatireddy believes in democracy, he should immediately apologise to Sandeep Reddy."

Former Minister Jagadish Reddy blamed the police for inaction and said, "It is outrageous that the police who were supposed to protect Sandeep Reddy whisked him away. Such arrogance does not work in public sphere. The DGP should take action against Rachakonda police for their behaviour."
