Koratikal villagers angry with BJP over unfulfilled 'cash-for-vote' promise
With the police preventing flow of illegal money into the constituency, leaders are failing their alleged promise of 'cash-for-vote'
Protest at a BJP leader's residence in Koratikal village over 'cash-for-vote'
MUNUGODE: Chaos prevailed in Koratikal village of Munugode Assembly constituency as angry villagers, who were promised money to cast their vote in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), converged on the house of a BJP leader on Wednesday.
They protested that they were not given any money and that the amount. They were even upset that the money paid to some was lesser than that was promised.
With the police tightening their grasp to arrest the flow of illegal money into the constituency, leaders of political parties, especially the BJP, appear to be at their wits end in fulfilling their alleged promise of 'cash-for-vote'.
In an earlier incident on Tuesday, BJP leader NVSS Prabhakar was seen asking a few women to vote for the 'lotus' party after giving them a lift in his car. He asked if they were paid Rs 3,000 for their favourable vote, after which the women cribbed that they were not given any money by anyone.
Ironically, this off-the-cuff conversation was caught on a video that NVSS Prabhakar himself posted on his Twitter handle.
