KTR accuses Congress of using Telangana as 'ATM' for other state elections
KTR criticises Congress, alleging misuse of Telangana funds to finance elections in Maharashtra, Haryana, and Jharkhand.
HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao has accused the Congress party of using Telangana as an "ATM" to fund elections in other states, including Maharashtra, Haryana, and Jharkhand.
KTR made this statement on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), responding to allegations of cash transfers from Telangana and Karnataka to Maharashtra ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
Shiv Sena leader Kiran Pawaskar had earlier demanded that the borders of Telangana and Karnataka be sealed, citing concerns that hundreds of crores could be smuggled into Maharashtra to support the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance. He also announced plans to file a complaint with the Central Election Commission on this matter. Pawaskar's statements have garnered significant attention, with the issue going viral on social media.
KTR further alleged that funds from Telangana's "R&R" taxes were being diverted to finance election campaigns in other Congress-ruled states.
