KTR condemns Congress Govt's intentional delay, despite L&T's readiness for repairs at Medigadda
Taking to X, KTR said that the construction company L&T had come forward to take up repair works as per the advice of the Telangana Irrigation and Command Area Development Department engineers.
HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) on Thursday criticised the Congress Government for intentionally delaying repairs to the Medigadda barrage only to defame the former K Chandrashekar Rao's Government.
Taking to X, KTR said that the construction company L&T had come forward to take up repair works as per the advice of the Telangana Irrigation and Command Area Development (I&CAD) Department engineers. "Even KCR has urged the Government to take up construction of a cofferdam at the damaged portion so that repairs could be undertaken in time to store and lift water to save farmers," KTR observed.
Now, it became clear that the Government had no intention to repair the damaged portion only for political gain. "It is clear now that the Government wants to play cheap politics rather than saving the farmers. They only want to defame KCR by not undertaking any repairs to Medigadda," KTR said.
Earlier, it was reported that the Irrigation Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy was furious over reports that the Engineer In Chief Anil Kumar went ahead and sought L&T's help to conduct repairs to Medigadda by first constructing a cofferdam. The Minister said to have made it clear that no repairs must be taken before the NDSA submits its report. There were several reports in the media that the construction major agreed to build the cofferdam.
