HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao has sharply criticised Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, following a statement by Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, which disclosed that loan waivers for 20 lakh farmers have not yet been completed. KTR accused the Chief Minister of misleading the public with claims that the loan waiver scheme had been fully implemented.

In a tweet, KTR stated that the Chief Minister's assurances of having completed 100% of loan waivers have now been proven false. He specifically questioned the promise of waiving Rs 2 lakh in loans for each farmer, labelling these promises as deceitful. He also pointed out that despite assurances to carry out the waivers in one go by December 9, nothing substantial has materialised even after ten months, affecting 20 lakh farmers.

KTR went on to criticise the government for failing to meet its official commitments. He suggested that the official data itself shows the injustice faced by 20 lakh farmers, and questioned how many more remain ineligible unofficially. Furthermore, he mentioned that the promised financial aid under the Rythu Bandhu scheme has not been delivered, despite the end of the agricultural season. He accused the Congress government of neglecting farmer welfare and described the administration as predatory, offering no benefits to the farming community.

He asserted that CM Revanth Reddy's incompetence has become a lingering curse for farmers, preventing them from achieving financial stability. The BRS leader called for transparency and fulfilment of promises to support the state’s farmers effectively.
