KTR files defamation suit against Congress leaders for 'misplaced allegations' on phone tapping

HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao filed a defamation suit against Congress leaders including Minister Konda Surekha, MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy and KK Mahender Reddy who falsely accused him of tapping phones.
The legal notices were sent by PV Janani and Associates which stated that the allegations made by the leaders were "misplaced and there was no proof of it". It added that the allegations were "made with malafide intention to tarnish the reputation, image and goodwill" of KTR.
The notice demanded an apology from the leaders, failing which legal proceedings would be taken up against them.
Minister Konda Surekha had earlier alleged that KTR indulged in phone tapping and had also threatened a few film personalities. Congress leader KK Mahender Reddy and Mahabubnagar MLA Yennam Srinivasa Reddy had also filed a complaint to the police that their phones were tapped during the Assembly elections based on KTR's instructions.
