HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao dismissed criticisms of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's governance as baseless, emphasising that the growth in Telangana’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector over the past decade speaks for itself.

He noted that, according to official figures provided by the Congress government, the sector had shown significant progress.

KTR highlighted that the MSME growth rate under KCR’s leadership increased from 11% to 15%, with average investments through the TS-iPASS policy seeing a 115% rise between 2018 and 2023. Additionally, the MSME contribution to the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) grew by 10%, while the number of MSMEs increased by 15% annually, contributing to a 20% rise in employment opportunities.

He also noted that 30% of MSME jobs were secured by SC, ST, and women beneficiaries. KTR pointed out that Telangana had one of the lowest closure rates of MSMEs between 2020 and 2023.

KTR attributed these achievements to the pro-industrial policies introduced by the previous KCR administration, such as TS-iPASS, and stated that the facts, supported even by Congress data, could not be denied. He reaffirmed that KCR’s governance had propelled Telangana forward in all sectors, and any attempts to downplay this progress would fail to obscure the truth.
