HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K Taraka Rama Rao responded sharply to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent claim that former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi invented the computer.

KTR ridiculed the statement, calling it a “chittinaayudu proverb” and clarified that the computer was invented by Charles Babbage, not Rajiv Gandhi.

KTR further pointed out that Rajiv Gandhi was 12 years old when India's first computer services were introduced in 1956 by the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research's Automatic Calculator (TIFRAC). He criticised Revanth Reddy for making inaccurate statements without proper knowledge, mocking him for speaking "whatever comes to mind" only to be caught later.

In a tweet, KTR sarcastically suggested that Revanth Reddy should focus on his well-known interests in real estate and blackmail schemes rather than making uninformed public statements. His comments were aimed at exposing the lack of factual grounding in Revanth’s claim and turning attention towards the importance of political responsibility in public discourse.
