KTR slams PM Modi for neglect of Hyderabad's development, urges voter support for change

HYDERABAD: "In times of flooding, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi swiftly aids his home state of Gujarat, Hyderabad is left neglected," said BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Friday.

During roadshows in Sanath Nagar and Secunderabad, KTR launched a scathing critique of Kishan Reddy, highlighting his lack of action despite holding the positions of MP and union minister for five consecutive terms. KTR accused Reddy of self-serving actions, stating, "He did nothing but line his own pockets. Prices have soared, and metro fares in Hyderabad have risen under his watch."

He went on to criticise Prime Minister Modi, accusing him of deceit, particularly in relation to economic promises. KTR pointed out the disparity between Modi's promises and the reality of rising prices, exemplified by the depreciation of the rupee against the dollar. Why haven't prices decreased despite the strengthening dollar? When PM Modi came to power in 2014, per litre petrol that was Rs. 70 had soared to Rs. 110," said KTR.

When questioning Kishan Reddy about his achievements, he often resorts to slogans like Jai Sriram and emphasises temple construction. However, KTR questioned the validity of using religious sentiments as a basis for voting, pointing out that temple construction alone does not address the broader needs of the community.

He contrasted this approach with KCR's efforts, highlighting the development of modern infrastructure projects like Kaleshwaram, reservoirs, ponds, lakes, tanks and the Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift scheme. These projects, named after various gods such as Mallanna Sagar, Ranganayaka Sagar, Rajarajeswara Sagar, and Konda Pochamma Sagar, demonstrate KCR's commitment to both development and reverence for religious sentiments.

Advocating for BRS candidate Padma Rao Goud, KTR emphasised the importance of the BRS's representation in Parliament. He urged voters to ensure Padma Rao's victory for unwavering support to the community.

Highlighting the failures of the BJP's past and present leaders, KTR underscored the need for change. He appealed for a significant mandate for Padma Rao, promising improved governance and development for Hyderabad.

In conclusion, KTR urged voters to support candidates committed to addressing the city's challenges and restoring prosperity under KCR's leadership.
