HYDERABAD: BRS working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) stated that the Telangana Government released notifications for 2,02,735 jobs in the State and has already filled 1,60,083 posts. He wanted to know from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi whether he could deny this fact.

“What happened to the promise of filling two and a half lakh Government jobs in Karnataka within 100 days after coming to power? Name one State in India that has filled more Government jobs than Telangana in the last decade, the KTR also the Minister for IT wanted to know.

KTR said that the Congress Government from 2004 to 2014 had created only 10,116 jobs in Telangana. While the BRS Government filled 16,850 jobs per year the Congress filled only 1,012 jobs, the BRS working president said. “This is the difference between the BRS and the Congress. This shows your sincerity towards youth. Prove me wrong,” he challenged Rahul Gandhi.

Further explaining his stand, KTR reminded Rahul Gandhi that it was the BRS Government that introduced the zonal system to ensure the local youth get 95 percent of the jobs in the recruitment drive. “One of our primary demands for creating jobs for Telangana youth has been addressed this way. Can you deny it?” he questioned the Congress MP.

In yet another question, KTR drew the attention of Rahul Gandhi to the fact that the Supreme Court of India upheld the ‘Mulki’ rules but the Congress Government in Parliament abolished the ‘Mulki’ rules which affected the rights of the people of Telangana.

“Isn’t it the Congress leaders who did not care about the six-point formula, 610 GO, and Girglani committee report, and made Hyderabad a free zone that affected the job opportunities of Telangana youth,” KTR questioned Rahul Gandhi.

The youth had no employment opportunities during the Congress rule which forced them to become Naxalites, KTR argued. “Is it not the Congress that has encountered hundreds of youngsters by tagging them as Naxalites,” KTR said.

During the Congress rule, APPSC was a big scam that sold jobs, and Telangana youth were not given jobs in the interview rounds with regional feeling. KTR said holding the Congress responsible for the killing of 369 students who raised their voices for Separate Telangana in 1969.

“Was it not the Congress government that killed seven youngsters in 1952 who raised slogans such as Mulki rule go back and ‘idli sambar’ go back,” KTR asked.

He wanted to know if Rahul Gandhi could deny the fact that the Congress party was responsible for the loss of many Telangana youngsters' lives by delaying statehood to Telangana after making a promise in 2004.

“You promised jobs for the youth in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Himachal Pradesh and never cared to fulfill that promise. Is it not true that you are playing with the lives of the youngsters in these states?” KTR pointed out.

Terming the Congress job calendar as a big hoax, KTR said: “How can you release notification in March, April, and May months of 2024 when there will be an election code in the country? Is this not your cheap attempt to cheat the youth only for votes before elections,” KTR said, nailing the last bluff of the Congress on the youth of Telangana.
