HYDERABAD: Telangana Minister for IT and Industries KT Rama Rao (KTR) has expressed his concern over the utterly reprehensible and callous comments of an officer of the Seattle Police Department (SPD) mocking the death of Indian Telugu student Jaahnavi Kandula.
Taking to Twitter, KTR said, "I request the US Ambassador in India Eric Garcetti to take up the matter with US Government authorities and deliver justice to the family of young Jaahnavi Kandula." He also requested the Union Minister for External Affairs S Jaishankar to take up the matter with his counterpart and demand an independent investigation into the matter.
"It is tragic that the life of a youngster with soaring ambitions has been cut short, but what’s more tragic and shocking is that a limited monetary value has been ascribed to her life," KTR said.
