KTR wants Modi to take back his remarks on Telangana’s farm loan waiver
KTR said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the BRS Government had made a loan waiver to a tune of Rs 37,000 crore for farmers twice in Telangana
PEDAPALLl: Telangana Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) KT Rama Rao (KTR) took strong exception to the remarks made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) failed to implement the loan waiver for farmers resulting in their suicides.
KTR on Sunday distributed Gruhalaxmi and Dalitha Bandhu proceedings to beneficiaries at Peddapalli. Addressing a public gathering, KTR said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the BRS Government had made a loan waiver to a tune of Rs 37,000 crore for farmers twice in Telangana.
“I am asking the Prime Minister to take back his statement on KCR failing to implement a loan waiver for farmers. KCR is the only Chief Minister in the country who has carried out loan waivers without any condition and given top priority to the welfare of farmers and agriculture in Telangana, besides providing Rs 73,000 crore investment to the farmers,” KTR said and dared Modi to show a single BJP-ruling State in India implemented loan waiver twice for the farmers.
Taking a jibe at the Prime Minister’s remarks about family rule in Telangana stalling progress in the State, KTR said, “The BRS is a family party as KCR owns all the four crore people of Telangana as his family and implements various welfare schemes for their holistic development.”
Be it the Shadi Mubarak and Kalyana Lakshmi scheme, around 13 lakh women benefited from the scheme. Similarly, around 46 lakh women were being given a welfare pension of Rs 2,000 per month and over 70 lakh farmers in Telangana were benefited with loan waiver and pro-farmer policies of the BRS Government, KTR said and predicted that the BJP won't even get deposit in the ensuing election if it continued to mudslinging on the BRS Government which is committed for the welfare of the people in Telangana.
The MA&UD Minister also criticised Modi for denying the proposal of free power supply to the farmers in the country, which costs around 1.45 lakh crore for the Central Government’s exchequer. Moreover, the Prime Minister also stated that offering freebies is “very dangerous” for the development of the country. He accused the BJP-led NDA Government of adopting an anti-farmer and pro-corporate stance.
“The Prime Minister waived around Rs 14.50 lakh crore loans of Adani group companies, ignoring the initiative of providing free power supply to 35-40 crore farmers in the country. KCR is the only Chief Minister in the country who has done benefit to the farmers,” KTR said, and dared the Prime Minister to debate the matter.
