Ladakh road accident: Telangana jawan laid to rest with State honours in RangaReddy
Chandrasekhar was one among the nine soldiers who died when an Army vehicle fell into a valley in Ladakh
HYDERABAD: The last rites of Army Jawan Neerati Chandrasekhar (30), who died in a road accident in Ladakh on Saturday, were performed in his native Devunipalli village of Kondurg mandal in RangaReddy district on Monday night.
Chandrasekhar was one among the nine soldiers who died when an Army vehicle fell into a valley in Ladakh. He joined the Army in 2011 and was survived by his wife and two children. The mortal remains of Chandrasekhar arrived at Begumpet Air Force Station Hyderabad by a Service Aircraft on Monday night. Thereafter, the mortal remains of Chandrasekhar were taken to his native village by road and the Army vehicle reached the village at 10 pm.
A two-wheeler rally was taken out by the villagers and friends of the jawan with national flags amid ‘Chandrasekar amar rahe’ and ‘Bharat Mata ki Ji’ slogans renting the air. A large number of people from Shadnagar, Pargi and surrounding villages in Mahabubnagar constituency turned up for the funeral and bid a tearful adieu to the jawan. Shadnagar MLA Yelganamoni Anjaiah Yadav, BJP leaders Vardhan Reddy, Vishnuvardhan Reddy, Congress leader V Shankar and other people’s representatives participated in the funeral.
The funeral was performed by the Army jawans with State Government honours at around 12:30 am by firing bullets three times in the air.
