Let's not send wrong message to investors: Akbaruddin Owaisi fact checks white paper
Akbaruddin suggested that along with Rythu Bandhu, pension amount should be released immediately for beneficiaries. He also suggested a resolution to traffic problems in the city.
HYDERABAD: AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi has questioned the statistics put out by the Congress Government in its white paper on the finances of the Telangana Government and said that it will be detrimental to send a wrong message to investors in the State.
Speaking during the debate on the white paper tabled in the Assembly on Wednesday, Owaisi said, "It is not correct to send wrong signals to industries looking to invest in the State. The State Government has conveniently taken statistics in the CAG and RBI reports to suit its narrative. Congress MLAs are insulting Telangana for political gain. They are trying to discredit Telangana. Criticism is natural in politics but it is not right to criticise for political gain. Telangana is a rich State. Despite the increase in debts, development has also taken place significantly. The development that did not take place in 55 years happened in these ten years."
Speaking about the development in the last ten years, Owaisi said, "Debts have increased not only for the State but also for the Centre. It has taken a loan of Rs 44,25,347 crore loan. The Central Government's debt has increased by 244 per cent in these ten years. Why don't you question it?
"Telangana has progressed in many fields in the last ten years. This fact cannot be denied. The total expenditure of United Andhra Pradesh from 1956-2014 was just Rs 11.94 lakh crore but Telangana's expenditure in just last 10 years was Rs 12.24 lakh crore.
Stating that action should be taken against bureaucrats if wrong information was provided to them, Owaisi said, "I demand an enquiry into the issues of Waqf Board and on Aler encounter (in 2015)."
Akbaruddin suggested that along with Rythu Bandhu, pension amount should be released immediately for beneficiaries. He also suggested a resolution to traffic problems in the city.
