Malla Reddy denies reports of joining Congress, says he met DK Shivakumar for friend’s business

HYDERABAD: Former Minister and BRS MLA Chamakura Malla Reddy denied reports that he will join the Congress and met Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to strike a deal.
His response came after a picture of Malla Reddy with Shivakumar became viral on social media. Malla Reddy’s son and son-in-law could be seen along with the Karnataka Deputy CM.
Clarifying his meeting with Shivakumar, Malla Reddy said that he had met Karnataka Deputy CM in Bengaluru to discuss the purchase of a private university owned by one of his friends.
“The meeting was arranged by a middleman. I am not leaving BRS. I will be with the party for five years. I am 71 now and may not contest in elections anymore,” he said in a statement here on Thursday.
He denied rumours of joining Congress or any other party. ‘These are all false propaganda against me,” he said.
