Malpractices: Legal Metrology Dept raids D-Mart outlet in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: The Legal Metrology Department officials have conducted raids at D-Mart in Bank Colony of Karimnagar district after consumers complained that the management was exploiting them by making them pay for unselected items.

The consumers alleged that they were being robbed by D-Mart which was adding extra items to their bills other than those purchased by them. They expressed concern that they were unable to check the items at the mart and were being duped by the management. They accused the management of not making the refunds even after identifying the erroneous additions to the bills. The consumers also staged a protest at the D-Mart outlet and demanded justice.

Meanwhile, there are allegations that the consumers were being lured with various offers only to force them to pay for the extra items. There are also allegations that some of the packaged goods weighed less than the weight shown on the packets. The consumers urged the officials to put an end to such malpractices by bigging shopping outlets and monitor their operations to preempt cheating.
