Modi working for the welfare of elite few at the expense of ordinary citizens: KCR
KCR also said that the money towards Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bheema schemes would be disbursed in the next two weeks
JAGTIAL: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was reducing the country to ashes and resisting development as he only cared about the welfare of a few elite men and did not bother about the ordinary citizens.
Addressing a public meeting at Jagtiyal, KCR said: "Modi also came to power the same time Telangana was formed. He promised many things. Can anyone name at least one promise that he fulfilled? He wants to push the country into darkness by privatisatising everything. He wants to sell off a great corporation like LIC. What will happen to lakhs of crores of rupees of the public? What will happen to the 25 lakh agents working in LIC? Over 10,000 factories were shut down, 50 lakh people lost their jobs. Is this called development and welfare?"
The Chief Minister said that it was his vision to see entire India prosper the way Telangana did. "Telangana is the only State having farmer-oriented schemes like Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bheema. It is the only State having drinking water connection in every household and power to every sector. There is no more drought in the State. I wish that the entire country prospers just like this. Modi's State Gujarat has electricity problems, there is no water in Delhi. Northern countries have high number of rape cases, lynching cases. It should not be the case," he said.
KCR also said that the money towards Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bheema schemes would be disbursed in the next two weeks. Beedi workers, who are jobless, are also getting a pension of Rs 2,016, apart from ration cards, free education and healthcare, and other benefits, he said. "Modi calls these schemes as Revdi culture. He wants to place motors on agricultural metres. As long as I am alive, I will work towards providing everything possible to the people, no matter who comes my way."
The Chief Minister said that Suramma lake would be restored and water would be provided to Kothalapur, Bheemaram and other villages. A lift irrigation project would also be sanctioned for the Mudhole area and many reservoirs around Jagtial would be developed, KCR said. He also said that Rs 10 crore would be given for the development of Jagtial.
