MUNUGODE: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Sunday said that the people of Munugode should vote with wisdom as they had got the opportunity to lay the foundation for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to play a huge role at the national level.

KCR addressed 'Munugode Rana Bheri', the TRS campaign meeting for the impending by-election to the Assembly constituency on November 3, at Bangarigadda of Chandur mandal. The BRS founder also made a scathing attack on the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi over a host of issues, especially the recent poaching scandal targeting the TRS MLAs that rocked the country.

"We have transformed Telangana into a wealthy state and a welfare model. We intend to expand this model to the rest of the country with our endeavours through the BRS. But, the BJP, on the other hand, is looking to topple democratically elected governments in the country. Recently, a few brokers came from Delhi and tried their hand at luring our MLAs with huge enticements of hundreds of crores of rupees.

"They are now cooling their heels in Cherlapally jail as our legislators exposed their conspiracy. There is a lot more to the scandal than what you have seen so far. It is going to shake the ground beneath the feet of the Delhi rulers (BJP-led NDA government at the Centre). Everything will come out into the open in the days to come," thundered KCR.

The TRS supremo also advised the voters of Munugode not to get swayed by enticements and misleading campaigns of the opposition BJP and the Congress. He appealed to them to analyse things and think well before casting their vote.

"This by-election was thrust upon Munugode, for no rhyme or reason. Your resounding verdict should be a slap in the face for those (Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy and BJP) who caused this situation," he appealed.

KCR also narrated how the Union Ministers humiliated Telangana when asked to buy paddy from the state. He said that, instead of buying paddy, the Central leaders unsolicitedly advised the Telangana people to start eating nukalu (broken rice).

The Telangana Chief Minister also took on Narendra Modi's Union government for its 'bad policies' with regard to electricity generation and distribution besides river water management in the country. He said that the NDA government had the dubious distinction of advising states to drop welfare measures under the pretext of freebies even while benefitting big corporate entities with a staggering Rs 14 lakh crores in various forms.

Earlier, KCR heaped praise on the four MLAs – Pilot Rohit Reddy, Guvvala Balaraju, Harshvardhan Reddy and Rega Kantha Rao – who were offered hefty bribes by the alleged deal brokers from Delhi in the recent failed poaching attempt. Presenting them to the crowd on the dais, the TRS chief described them as 'bravehearts' and 'committed soldiers' who, he said, stood for the self-esteem of Telangana while exposing the plot to topple the government.

In fact, the four MLAs also accompanied the Chief Minister during his helicopter flight from Begumpet airport in Hyderabad to the makeshift helipad at the public meeting venue at Bangarigadda.
