Mynampally Hanumantha Rao quits BRS, rejects Malkajgiri nomination

HYDERABAD: Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao resigned from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) party alleging indifference of the party towards addressing his grievances. The decision came after the party refused to grant his son Mynampally Rohit Medak Assembly seat.
In a letter addressed to BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, Mynampally said that he rejected the Malkajgiri assembly ticket offered to him after a lot of deliberation and consultation with his supporters.
“I am deeply disappointed and disillusioned with the recent developments in the party. There is no democracy or transparency in its functioning. The party leadership has ignored the voices and opinions of the grassroots workers and leaders and has taken unilateral decisions without any consultation or consensus,” Mynampally complained.
He pointed out that the leadership changed the name of the party from TRS to BRS against the wishes of the rank and file of the party. “The unfruitful attempts to expand into neighbouring states have taken away the focus of the party from the development of Telangana,” Mynampalli pointed out.
He said that he had serious differences with some of the senior leaders of the party who were spreading false and malicious propaganda against him in the media and social media.
While Mynampally reportedly made up his mind to join the Congress and was camping in New Delhi, the BRS might opt either for the party’s Malkajgiri in-charge Marri Rajasekhar Reddy or MLC Shambhipur Raju for the Malkajgiri seat.
Spealing to media, Mynampalli said that he would not forget his cadre and the constituency at a ny cost and declared that he would conbtest from Malkajgiri. "Rumours have been spread that I am going to contest from Qutbullahpur, but I am not," he said.
